Onion Rings
Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp pepper
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup beer
- 2 large onion cut into thick slices and separated into individual rings
- peanut oil
Instructions
-
In a deep pot add peanut oil. Begin preheating your oil to 350°F. In a small bowl combine the one cup of flour, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and baking powder. Whisk in the beer until you have a smooth batter.
-
Take your onion rings and cover them in flour.
-
Once your oil has reached 350°F, dip the flour-covered onion rings into the batter. Make sure to let any excess batter drip off the onion ring before placing it in the oil.
-
Place the battered onion ring into the hot oil and fry each side for about two minutes, or until golden brown.
