  • 1 lb flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1.5 oz butter
  • 1/2 pint milk


  1. Pour the flour and salt into a mixing bowl and rub in the butter

  2. Add the currants

  3. Add the milk to the mixture and make into a soft dough

  4. Place the dough in a greased bread tin

  5. Bake in the center of the oven for approximately 1 hour. Gas Mark 4
