  • 1 lb self-raising flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1.5 oz butter
  • 2 teaspoon ground carraway seeds
  • 1/4 pint milk
  • 1/4 pint water


  1. Mix the water and the milk together in a jug.

  2. Mix the flour, salt and ground carraway seeds together in a bowl.

  3. Rub in the butter and mix into a soft dough using the milk/water mix.

  4. Once ready, put the mixture into a greased bread tin and bake in a moderate oven for approximately 1 hour.
