Salty Bread Sticks

  • 10 g Yeast
  • 3 tbspn milk
  • 1 tspn sugar
  • 350 g Flour
  • 150 g butter
  • 1/2 tspn salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 egg yoke
  • 50 g rough sea salt


  1. Pre heat oven at 240c (gas mark 5)

  2. Use a medium sized bowl, add in the yeast, milk, and sugar whisk it all together.

  3. Set it down into a semi warm place for 20 minutes to let it rise.

  4. Using a large bowl mix the flour, butter (in snippets) with a teaspoon of salt. Then add in the eggs and finish mixing it together.

  5. Combine both mixtures and start kneeding softly for 5 mins. Then wrap it in a tea towel and let it rest for 15 min.

  6. On a flat surface sprinkled with flour, roll the dough out to a 1cm thickness and cut it in 35cm strips.

  7. Sprinkle the entire surface of the dough with the sea salt, might have to do this a couple times to have a decent amount stick.

  8. Bake it in the oven for 10-12 minutes, after which you put it on a cooling roster.
